Date Night at Home Ideas for Parents

June 6, 2021 by Adriana Matthews

Finding new ways to enjoy quality time together as a couple is an important aspect of marriage. This is how you remain connected and bonded as a couple amidst the chaos that parenting involves.

Today we’re going to share some fun date night at home ideas for parents so that you can enjoy quality time together without stressing over babysitter fees or needing to leave the home.

Pop that Popcorn

Grab a new popcorn machine to make this more fun! You can pop some popcorn and pretend you’re at the movie theater as you sit down cuddled up on the couch to watch a favorite film together. One of you works to get the kids into bed, and the other works to set up the living room theater.

Once everything is in place and the kids are sound asleep, it’s time to dim the lights and enjoy a romantic movie date night at home.

Grab the Board Games

You probably have some favorite board games, so why not gather them up and make this a game night date? You can easily host a date night at home after the kids go to sleep with your favorite board games. Have each partner select one board game and play until each one is finished.

You can bake some treats or buy your favorite snacks and beverages to make this date night at home the best event ever.

Have a Bake Off

This is a fun date night at home that can be done with kids asleep or awake. Have your partner and you select one recipe that you both will try to recreate. Gather your supplies from the grocery store and have a blast seeing who can make the best version of this treat.

You could use this date night as a way to prepare the next days’ treats or meals. Then have the kids vote which one tastes better.

Go to Bed Earlier

Chances are you typically get some things done around the home after your kids go to sleep. This is especially true of parents to younger kids. But why not use this time to snuggle up in bed earlier than planned with your partner?

You can ignite that spark as you cuddle up under the blankets together in bed. If you fall asleep together, then so be it! You deserve a snuggle-to-sleep kind of date night at home, anyway!

These are just some of the very best ways parents of younger kids try to find new ways to date at home. This helps save cash on a babysitter and avoids the stress of having to find a trusted person to tend to the kids as you find an affordable date night place to visit.
