I’m in a different chapter of parenthood. My oldest is just 10 months shy of being an adult, and about 6 months shy of graduating high school. With this different chapter in parenthood comes some bittersweet moments. I still want to cram in a bunch of things that we haven’t done yet, and I want to spoil her for Christmas since it’s the last Christmas as a minor child. On the other hand, I want to allow my oldest to make some decisions on her own, and start taking control of her life. It’s all very hard for a “mommy” like me, but I’m embracing it and taking it one day at a time. 

Most recently my oldest and youngest joined me in using an Ugly Sweater Christmas Cookie kit to decorate two cookies each. This was such a fun time. We laughed, we talked, we ate frosting and icing, we enjoyed some quality time together.

Next, open the cookies and icing as well as the frosting. Place the sprinkles in a small bowl for all to share.

Tips for Decorating Ugly Christmas Sweater Cookies with Teens

• Don’t forget that the icing and frosting can be used as “glue” to hold your sprinkles in place. 
• Always remember to place the icing where you want it, as wiping it off will still leave a little icing residue behind.
