#14: When You Walk Through a Storm…
Full confession: I had to Google the phrase that the young passenger in the following story piped up with (I think that by “piped up,” the person means “started singing”). It comes from an old Elvis song called “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” And you know what? I didn’t remember the words, but I had actually heard the song before.
But that’s because old American music is kind of a hobby of mine. I think if you polled 100 people under the age of 60, maybe three or four of them would have actually heard that song, let alone be familiar with all the lyrics. So the chances of the entire plane being filled with old people and the three young people who listen to Elvis don’t seem terribly high.
