#47: Woodstock
Whenever you put on a big event, the number one thing you need is a space to actually hold the event. The best spots are usually big pastures or desert land as they offer a great deal of land and are usually deserted enough that noise complaints won’t occur.
Well, thanks to Max and Miriam Yasgur, the Woodstock festival in 1969 was able to take place. Their dairy farm in New York was the festival grounds for the festival that defined a generation. They look like lovely people, we hope the festival-goers didn’t ruin their pastures too badly!
