Spooky Scary Skeletons
Imagineers spend immense time and energy bringing the Disney theme parks to life with props that have been carefully curated for each attraction. Although much of Disney is based on animation, keeping it magically real is also important. At one point, this meant incorporating real human skeletons into the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
When the ride was constructed in the 1960s, the park got their hands on bones from the UCLA Medical School because props just weren’t enough for the scary aesthetic the Imagineers were going for. You can still see one of them today embedded into the headboard of the bed where a fake skeleton rests.
