Learning The Lingo
The Disney theme parks are buzzing with thousands of guests at any given time, so cast members are tasked with ensuring that problems don’t turn into a full-blown panic that dominoes into chaos. Naturally, they’ve developed unique codewords to keep everyone calm, and even a few to passive-aggressively let you know you’re problematic in the politest way possible.
Throw up after too much Dole Whip and a ride on Space Mountain? That’s a “Code V” for your “protein spill.” Lose track of your kids? You’re now a “lost adult.” Feeling a bit cranky and finding yourself getting short-tempered with cast members? You’re now a “treasured guest” who may be told to “have a Disney day.”
