Food Donations
Living with an empty stomach is something nobody should ever have to endure, and the internet is full of food service employees lamenting how their companies wastefully dispose of massive amounts of perfectly edible food at closing time, banning employees from giving it to the hungry. Disney is doing things a little differently.
Disneyland decided to tackle hunger issues in Orange County, California, by starting a food donation program in 2014. In 2019, they served over 20,000 meals from their locations that had leftover meals that had been prepared but not purchased and eaten by park guests, successfully reducing food waste and contributing to a noble cause.
