Jessica Rabbit – Rita Hayworth
Jessica Rabbit from the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit, is said to be inspired by a few different women. The animation director Richard Williams said the iconic character, from her slick red hair and lips to her curvaceous frame was supposed to be the “ultimate male fantasy, drawn by a cartoonist.”
Although her hair was influenced by Veronica Lake, Williams said he tried to make her as much like “The Love Goddess” Rita Hayworth as possible. So that is who we have to thank for the many Jessica Rabbit costumes we see women wear on Halloween or at costume parties.
