Moana released in 2016 has very quickly become a favorite among Disney fans. With the Rock voicing demi-god Maui, how could it not have been a success? After all, we all ended up falling in love with Maui by the end of the movie.

As it turns out, Maui was actually based on the Rock’s very own maternal grandfather, WWE Hall of Famer, High Chief Peter Mativia of Samoa. The Rock revealed this interesting fact on Twitter when a fan pointed out the resemblance between the two.
