Lady Tremaine — Eleanor Audley
Eleanor Audley might not be a household name, but she had earned herself the nickname “Queen of Evil” in animation circles during the 1950s because of her antagonistic roles. She was the live-action model behind most of the villains we love to hate. Cinderella’s stepmother, Lady Tremaine, arguably the most famous villain of them all is actually based on her likeness.
Eleanor Audley was also the live-action model for Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty and voiced Madame Leota from the Haunted Mansion. Which begs the question was there a villain left in the 1950 animation world that was not inspired by Eleanor Audley?
