One look at Lumiere and you know he got his dashing looks from his voice actor Jerry Orbach. Orbach, originally from New York played the debonaire candelabra in the original Beauty and the Beast in 1991 and went on to reprise his role several more times in other recreations.

Some characters are loosely based on their voice actor but in this case, Lumiere looks almost exactly like Orbach. From his slender frame, and sophisticated mannerisms, to his signature eyebrows. This is one that the animators really got right.
