Acquiring a New Vocabulary
Kids begin imitating their parents before they are able to describe what they are reenacting. This may be seen in children who pretend to be their moms and dads, with little or no comprehension of what they’re really doing. In recent years, adults have increasingly started mimicking the younger generation’s slang in order to fit in.
When parents and kids do this, it’s usually a recipe for disaster. But this time, it appears to have worked! It’s a shame that Mom doesn’t understand what she’s saying.
