DNA tests don’t tell you everything, but they can connect you to people who can share more information with you about your roots and ancestors. But imagine you lived your whole life thinking you were one ethnicity just to learn from a DNA test that you couldn’t have been more wrong.
That is exactly what happened to this Native American who believed she was Hawaiian for most of her life. The DNA test not only exposed her true identity, but it also connected her to a second cousin, who then connected her to an aunt who was able to tell her about her biological father.
