A New Sense of Pride
This woman’s ex-husband was not only Dutch, but claimed that he had been a member of one of the founding families of Holland, Michigan, a city in Michigan that recalls Holland Dutch roots with the De Zwaan windmill and the May’s Tulip Time Festival. He was always proud of his Dutch heritage until a DNA test proved him to be otherwise.

The results from the DNA test proved that he was only slightly dutch and discovered that his ancestors had primarily English and Irish blood. Instead of being dissapointed, his surpruising results inspired him to embrace his English and Irish heritage as well, forming a new sense of pride for his true indentiy.
