Sadly, we consume a lot of frozen food. Our hectic lifestyles don’t allow us to spend much time in the kitchen, so we need some convenient way to prepare food for our families. What could be more convenient than a prepared meal you just need to defrost in a microwave?
The thing with frozen food is that you get what you pay for. If the price is too good to be true, it usually is. Most of the time, frozen food will contain many fillers and not enough ingredients. Take frozen fish, for example. The high-priced fish fingers are prepared directly on the fishing ship. They are enormous, very costly to operate. The fish they catch is immediately handled, they make fish fingers and burgers from it, and instantly freeze them. All the nutrients are preserved. Can you imagine the dollar store producers doing the same?
