This Parent Thinks They Can Tell The Teacher What To Teach
In the United States, students studying history often focus on the past of their own country, paying particular attention to pivotal moments and events such as the American Civil War. The country underwent a number of significant changes throughout that time period, yet, it would appear that some individuals are sick of being reminded of it at this point.
When taking a course on the history of the United States at the intermediate level, it is unreasonable to expect not to learn anything about slavery. It is absurd for these parents to feel that they have the authority to tell the instructor what topics they may or may not address. They have no right to make such a determination.
