Petra, Jordan
If you’re ever passing through the southern parts of Jordan, make sure you make a quick stop at Petra. Petra is an ancient city that was carved out of the tall mountains some 9,000 years ago. It was only in 200 BC that the place was uncovered and excavation of the ancient site really began.
One thing that draws tourists to Petra is the Hellenistic architecture, which is the remnants of the ancient city of Alexandria. There are also countless royal tombs scattered throughout the archeological site, so maybe try not to do anything that would offend the dead during your visit.
