As we get older, we learn to respect and appreciate everything about our parents that we used to see as embarrassing. While their quirks might seem embarrassing to us as teenagers, the older we get, the more we learn to respect our parents and even appreciate their quirks.

This woman recalls that back in school, her mother – who’s a trained opera singer – used to sing loudly at every school event. Naturally, her voice stood out above everyone else’s, which made everyone turn their heads and stare at the two of them. We can see how this kind of attention might be embarrassing for a young girl, but it’s definitely cool to have an opera singer as a mom!
