Battling the Bathroom Bashfulness
Often, individuals feel a certain timidity concerning bowel movements, a sentiment that can be traced back to their upbringing. This sense of embarrassment may be deeply ingrained if, as children, they were taught that discussing such matters was off-limits or shameful. As a result, a wave of bashfulness tends to wash over them whenever they feel the call of nature’s second number.

The societal expectations and stereotypes towards women are glaringly apparent. One often hears, “You’re a woman, ladies don’t speak like that! You should behave appropriately. Be kind. Act ladylike,” and so on. This societal construct is also mirrored in the character of the comedian’s wife. She, too, is expected to conform to the norms, even when it comes to something as natural as the need to use the bathroom with urgency!
