4. Doing Side Quests During a War
Joe Medicine Crow, a remarkable figure in both military and Native American history, achieved the prestigious status of the last war chief during WWII. To earn this title, Medicine Crow accomplished four traditional feats required by the Crow tribe, demonstrating extraordinary bravery and tactical skill.
First, he practiced counting coup by touching an enemy soldier without causing harm. Second, he disarmed an enemy, seizing their weapon in the heat of battle. Third, he led a successful war party, proving his leadership and strategic acumen. Finally, in a bold nighttime raid, he stole not one but 50 horses from a German camp, including one belonging to a German officer, displaying his stealth and cunning.
