16. He Never Won The Nobel Prize
A man of peace, Mahatma Gandhi, was nominated for the Nobel Prize in 1937, 1938, 1939, and 1947, but he never received the award. Believe it or not he began his activism towards peace in South Africa and not in India but was highly influenced by the civil rights movements that were happening in South Africa at the time.

You wouldn’t think that he was engaged since the age of seven to Kasturba and had four sons. He, later on, swore on celibacy for spiritual reasons and his wife remained married to him until her last day. That is commitment people! Take this couple as your example to follow, nah, just kidding.
