Ian McKellen once had the chance to be the most loved magical professor from all time, Dumbledore, from the Harry Potter series but Ian turned down the proposal and moved on to doing other projects. There are rumors that he rejected playing Dumbledore due to his rivalry with the actor who previously portrayed Dumbledore in the series.
