Dirty Girls
Women are often hailed as the cleaner sex, while men and their living spaces are compared to barnyard animals and their mess. It’s a stereotype likely born from old, reinforced gender roles that place women in charge of cleaning up around the house while men bring home the bacon for their wives to fry up.
u/PSFREAK33 found an outlier to the research that shows, on average, women spend significantly more time cleaning than men. Harvard University noted, “one hypothesis for the observed difference in cleaning times is that women may more strongly anticipate being judged by their peers, especially by other women. This could cause a cycle of prejudice.”
