The Colors of the Beaches
Although there are so many seashores along the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii, you’ll be surprised to learn that not only do they vary in size, but color as well. The various unique shades depend on the rocks that the sand is made from. Although many picture white beaches when they think of Hawaii, there are actually beaches that come in many colors.
In Hawaii, you can find sand on beaches that are yellow, red, and even green. Papakolea seashore, located on the Big Island of Hawaii, is one of the only four beaches in the world that is covered with green sand. It’s pretty spectacular to see in person. Hawaii even has black sand beaches from the eroded basalt or lava from the volcanoes.
