This fact may be the most surprising of all and the most significant separation between Hawaii and the rest of the 49 states. Unlike the rest of the states in America, Hawaii actually has its own language and alphabet. The state only uses 12 out of the 26 letters of the English alphabet.
The letters include A, E, H, I, K, L M, U, P U, and W. The Hawaiian alphabet was adopted from the English language in the early 19th century and is used to write in Hawaiian. Hawaiian and English and the two main languages spoken in the eight islands.
