The Gif of Time
We slightly reviewed this when we discussed earlier how Hawaii is one of the few US territories that does not participate in daylight savings. As we prefaced, Hawaii has its own time zone called Hawaiian Standard Time, which is three hours behind the pacific time zone. There are a few reasons for this.
Hawaii is the most isolated population on Earth, which is one of the factors that make it such a special and unique place to travel to. Going to Hawaii merely feels like an escape. It’s 2,400 miles away from the US mainland. As an isolated collection of islands, it’s not close enough to anywhere else to share the same time zone.
