Kauai is also known as the Garden Isle for its many waterfalls and its tropical rainforest covering most of the island’s terrain. You may have seen this island on the silver screen of many major Hollywood films. Kauai is the second oldest of the primary Hawaii Islands behind Ni’ihau.
Kauai is more than six million years old and is the most established of the Hawaiin Islands. It is against the law on this beautiful tropical island to build a structure taller than 50 feet, or taller than a palm tree. Therefore, most of the architectural structures on the island look like huts.
