Cooking pasta in shallow pots
Did you know that pasta needs a lot of room to move? This means you shouldn’t use a shallow pot to boil pasta to perfection. In fact, if you do use a shallow pan, you might end up burning the pasta and causing it to stick to the pot’s sides. Most people here probably know what we mean.
With a bigger pot and more water, you’ll have more control over how quickly (or slowly) the pasta cooks. Also, you can move the pasta around without causing water to spill out of the pot. In general, you should use six quarts of water for every box 8-ounce package.
