Only using extra virgin olive oil
EVOO is perfect in every way. The stuff tastes amazing, even on its own, and it’s a much healthier alternative to other kinds of fats. In fact, the Mediterranean diet focuses on using more EVOO on various dishes. If you want a healthy heart and mind, EVOO should be your go-to fat.
But just because olive oil is fantastic doesn’t mean you should omit all other kinds of fats. In fact, EVOO has an extremely low smoking point, which isn’t ideal for deep frying. Research what types of oils you can use in certain dishes. Consider getting a bottle of grapeseed oil or its neutral flavor and high tolerance to heat (perfect for searing steaks).
