Placing tomatoes in the fridge
When it comes to how to properly store foods, you’re going to hear a lot of different claims. For instance, should you store eggs in the fridge or not? Some say yes, you should, if you want to preserve the eggs’ freshness and prevent the yolk from breaking in the pan. But what about fresh produce, specifically tomatoes?
This fruit (tomato is a fruit, you guys) does not belong in the refrigerator. As soon as you get home from the grocery store or market, leave tomatoes on the kitchen countertop. They don’t fare well in the cold and will actually lose their potency over time. Also, place the tomatoes upside down.
