Funny Dad Fails

October 2, 2012 by Jade Parker

Nobody can prepare you for life with little ones and the mistakes that come with it. You can read all of the award-winning parenting books, soak up every hack from your favorite TikTok mommy blogger, and try all the family tricks passed down from your grandparents, but there’s no antidote for the facepalmingly funny situations you’ll find yourself in after you have kids. When moms mess up, they can play the pregnancy brain card for years, thanks to the science that proves women’s brains undergo reconstruction when there’s a baby on board. When dads fumble, we point and laugh at their fails on social media and try to make sense of how it all happened. Today we’ll be looking at some of the internet’s most amusing dad fails that brightened our day and even had us debating if they were wins in disguise.

Fusion Food or Failure?

This dad’s strange pairing of edamame and Pizza Rolls tells us one of two things. There was nothing else in the fridge to eat and not enough time to go to the store, or the kids held him hostage until they reached a compromise: the kids got their Pizza Rolls, and Dad gets to say he made them eat their veggies.

If we frame it another way, this dad fail might actually be a dad win. The Japanese-American fusion plate is bursting with fiber and antioxidant-rich edamame, accompanied by bite-sized pizza pockets filled with tomato sauce, cheese, and meat. This dish hits nearly all the parts of the food pyramid. Are we letting Dad get away with this?
