Going Solo
It’s always a good thing to break away from the monotony of regular life and do something different. For Jasmine Harrison, a 21-year-old part-time swimming teacher and bartender, that meant rowing the Atlantic solo. It took her 70 days, 3 hours, and 48 minutes to complete the journey but she did it and is the youngest woman to do so.
She started at La Gomera in the Canary Islands and finished at Antigua where she was greeted with fanfare on Facebook. Although it was difficult at times, Harrison hopes to inspire other young people to get out there and do something outside their comfort zone. Her record-breaking feat has also raised more than £10,000 for charity. That’s amazing!
