What an Honor
When it comes to things you’ve accomplished in life, it doesn’t get more amazing than Kane Tanaka. Not only is she the world’s oldest person currently at 118, but she’s also survived cancer twice, lived through two global pandemics, and will carry the Olympic torch in May 2021 in Japan.
Tanaka will take the flame as it passes through Shime in Fukuoka. It is said that her family will be pushing her in a wheelchair for the 100-meter leg but the supercentenarian wants to walk the last few steps before passing the torch to the next runner. We can’t wait to see her add one more achievement under her belt!
