How Not to Build a Retaining Wall
A retaining wall is a wall that keeps soil in place. Imagine building a home on a slight hill. Now, imagine cutting one portion of the slope to create a flat, vertical surface that’s perpendicular to the ground. Now, imagine covering the exposed soil with a wall. That’s what a retaining wall is.
The one in this picture is what a retaining wall should not look like. For some reason, the retaining wall decided that it had enough of living and decided to just collapse. Someone needs to patch this hole up before the soil follows suit and sends the home crashing down.
