On Making Plans
A major part of adult life is all about making plans with others, canceling those plans, feeling ecstatic, and making new plans all over again. It’s like a cancel-reschedule ping-pong that goes on for all eternity. We’re not sure why we feel that instant sense of relief when someone cancels on us but it seems to be pretty common especially if you’re catching up with them after a long break.
Maybe it’s your social anxiety or the pressure of hanging out or just the fact that you’re a self-proclaimed homebody. The worst part is when you almost forget that you made plans with someone and you suddenly get a message asking if you’re still on. It makes you want to scream and throw your phone, doesn’t it?
