German Marks Made from Linen
The writing on this piece of cloth would indicate that it’s an old German mark note. But since when did people print money on fabric? Was thing this ever used as legitimate currency to buy whatever it was that old-fashioned Germans bought? And is this thing valuable?
Apparently, Germans did use fabric money notes back in the 1920s. However, these weren’t used in exchange for goods. You would take one of these things and hand it over to a money changer, who’d exchange money for your mark cloth. If you have any questions, you can find answers at the Bank of Bielefield.
