Pink Katydid
Did you know that the Caucasian race is actually a genetic mutation of homo sapiens mating with neanderthals? That’s right. Fruits are not the only living things that genetically mutate. In fact, that’s how evolution works and how new species are formed. Pretty cool, right? This pink Katydid is no different.
These katydid crickets are usually green, and the pink katydid bugs are due to erythrism, which is a rare genetic mutation of katydids that contains a larger amount of red pigments than normal. Even though these bugs are technically abnormal, their intensely beautiful color separates them from most of the species, making them very special.
