Splitting up
A lot of companies seem to be of the opinion that small print will get them out of all sorts of messes. Like the insurance company that won’t pay out because you didn’t read the small print in the terms and conditions about not covering fires that happen on a Tuesday. Who has the time to read 3 pages of small print, though?
Even when the stakes aren’t so high and you’re dealing with your lunch buffet, it still seems pretty underhand to use the small print. This company, for example, advertises the packet as holding 12 sausage rolls. Take a closer look, and you’ll find that there are only 12 if you cut each of the items in the packet in half. So, there are 6 then?
