Electrical wires and fiber optic cables are two very different things. You can’t just call an electrician to fix a fiber optic problem since they don’t have the expertise to handle it. In fact, you can probably do most electrical rewiring if you’re even the slightest bit handy (if not, pay a pro to do it for you).

As for snapped optic cables like in this picture, this is not the way to fix it. And worst of all, the electrician who snapped this cable in the first place decided to implement a quick fix that didn’t solve anything. On top of that, they thought the homeowner wouldn’t notice. If you’re going to hire an electrician, hire a competent, honest one.
