Potatoes and Spectators
One summer, this American family went to Mexico for a fun vacation. All of them being lovers of aquatic animals, they decided to go see a dolphin show. What could be more adorable than watching these friendly sea creatures swim around and do tricks? But when they arrived, they had no idea where to go.
The man who worked at the dolphin show was somewhat new to the English language, making his instructions very confusing. He continuously asked the potatoes to sit on one side. The potatoes? It took a while f=or the family to realize he meant “spectators.” Now, whenever the family eats potatoes, they say “Please pass the spectators!”
