When the holiday season arrives, adults get busier than ever so here are some ideas to keep your kids busy while you attempt to make light of the holiday chaos that ensues every year during holiday break time.

Make a Bucket List

Sit down with the kids before holiday break gets into full swing and make a holiday break bucket list. You’ll have a blast learning more about what your kids want to do during holiday break and having a list to go by.

This will help keep everyone on the same page with ideas to have some fun with siblings, friends, and family.

Collect the Board Games

Another way to get your kids occupied for some holiday break fun for kids is to collect some board games. Start buying board games from the local thrift stores and online retailers now so that your kids will have plenty of board games to enjoy during holiday break.

This will keep the “I am bored” sentences out of your kids’ mouths, as they will have plenty of games to keep them entertained while you deal with meals and gift-buying for the holiday season.

Plan a Day Trip

Don’t forget the power of spending some quality time together with the family during the holiday season. Make sure you plan at least one day trip with the kids for holiday break fun for kids. This can be anything from the bucket list you created above, and just make a full day of fun for the kids.

A day trip is an excellent way to get a break from the chaos that you’re experiencing as an adult during holiday break, plus it gets the kids out of the house for some fun.

Get Pretend Playsets

Gather up the pretend playsets complete with dress up clothing, pretend food, and so forth! Kids of all ages can have fun creating a play and enacting it on the holiday family gathering day. Kids of younger ages will enjoy playing pretend kitchen or chef to be like Mom and Dad during the holiday season.

Pretend playsets are a fabulous way to encourage creativity, independence, and sibling togetherness for kids of all ages.

These are just some of our creative ideas for holiday break fun for kids. We hope that this list inspires you to find new ways to enjoy holiday break this year with your family!
