Fire extinguishers
You buy lots of things in case of an emergency if you have your own home, and a fire extinguisher is one of those that gets shoved in the back of a cupboard. Hopefully, you never need to use it, but you don’t want to be in the middle of an emergency fire situation and discover that your extinguisher won’t work because it’s out of date.
Usually, what happens is the gas inside escapes through the seal, lowering the pressure which makes the extinguisher operate. Every fire extinguisher should have an expiration date, but a rule of thumb is to get them refilled or replace them at least every 12 years.
