Sponges
Something that we clean with this often, we would think it rinsing it out would keep it clean and useful. Dish sponges are, in fact, one of the biggest culprits for bacteria and germs in the kitchen. You should ideally change them every two weeks.
Bacteria from the food and mess cleaned up by the sponge starts to build up and can result in E.coli or salmonella being spread in the home. If you want to cut down on your waste, then you can put them, sightly wet, in the microwave for 1 minute to kill the germs, or just pop them on your shopping list.
