Wooden spatulas
For similar reasons, you should be keeping an eye on your wooden kitchen utensils. The heat that they are exposed to causes tiny cracks in the wood, and that’s how bacteria can grow in the small bits of food that get stuck in there. And anyone who’s ever prepared food before knows that’s exactly what you don’t want to put in your dish.
Make sure that you keep them as clean as possible, and get new ones every 2 years. Obviously, if you see them become cracked, warped, or broken, then you should change them more often. Plastic or silicon spatulas can be greater, but they’re not heat-resistant.
