Child’s car seat
When you’re on to child number 2, or 3, you probably want to save all the money you can by re-using the baby stuff you used before. Out comes the old crib, the nursing chair, the muslins, and maybe the car seat.
Well, that last one isn’t the best idea. The plastic used to make these seats deteriorates over time, meaning that the seat is ineffective after around 6 years. Also, leaving the car seat in a hot car can accelerate the deterioration process. This is definitely not a hand-me-down you want to be hanging on to. New is best in this case.
