When you think about camping in a tent with kids you probably feel a little nervous. Camping in a tent is unlike any other form of camping. This form of camping is more of a rough style camping event and must be done in a certain way, especially if you want to enjoy camping in a tent with kids. There are a few steps to take if you’re going to head out into the great outdoors in a tent with kids, and today I’m going to share a few tips to survive camping in a tent with kids so that you’re able to enjoy the peaceful bliss of nature with kids by your side.

Buy a Family Tent

There are so many family tents available to purchase as a means to enjoy camping in a tent with kids. From multiple room tents and options to have an attached screened porch, the options are endless. Pack Food and Wood

When camping in a tent with kids you’re going to have to plan to feed them and with that comes the need to pack a variety of food, water, and other drinks as well as wood for the campfire. Cooking over a campfire will be the most feasible option when it comes to camping in a tent. Not only does it make sense to cook over an open flame while camping in a tent, but the taste is surprisingly delicious.

Look at Amenities

If you’re going camping in a tent with kids at a campground then you’re going to want to check out the amenities beforehand. For some parents, having WiFi is a necessity, especially if you work from home and need to stay connected clients. Some other options to look for at a campground when camping in a tent is showers, bathrooms, and a laundry room on site.

Research Campgrounds

There are many websites that will help you find campgrounds in your local area, or throughout the state. Try to use these camp search sites to figure out what each campground offers for amenities, pricing and options. You’ll find that some campgrounds have a limit on the number of tents per site, the number of adults versus children, as well as what options they have for tent sites such as water/electric.

Overall the best way to enjoy camping in a tent with kids is to make sure the tent site has options that your family needs to keep the kids entertained, showered, and fed. Many campgrounds allow you to put a tent on a camper site that offers water and electricity. While you may think you want to rough it in a tent with kids, the best way to enjoy this time together is to have access to drinkable water and electricity. Having a way to get access to fresh, drinkable water and an electric outlet will come in handy even if you don’t connect to WiFi or other options. At the end of the day being able to head out in a tent with kids is a fabulous way to enjoy quality time together as you bond over roasted marshmallows, campfire food, and lots of laughter.
