How to Save Time as a Busy Mama

June 16, 2022 by Alison Campbell

Motherhood brings tender moments, and the joy that tags along with it is incomparable. But, there’s usually a catch; being a mama puts you in an overly tight schedule, such that time becomes a much-treasured asset. Balancing between work and mama duties isn’t easy, but the glad tiding is that it’s still possible to squeeze through. Here’s how to save time as a busy mama.

1. An Ongoing Shopping List Can Come in Handy

Admit it; it’s always “mama prepares the grocery list” at home. And quite reasonably, it’s not always a breeze shuffling through the pantry or fridge to find what’s missing – especially if you’re tight on tight. But, here’s a clever hack: stick an ongoing shopping list on the fridge or anywhere you find fitting. Therefore, anyone who empties the ketchup or notices something diminishing jots it down right away. Perhaps, your elder kid can pick the mantle, but if anyone can do it, well and good.

2. Cook Once and Eat Multiply

Sometimes, all it takes is cooking once to save on time but eat severally without touching the cooker or dishes. And it’s super easy; cook plentifully and keep some of it in the fridge. Or, if the food won’t require some freezing, you may cover it well. That way, it gives you plenty of extra time to settle a few other things in the house or catch up with your book club. Let your kids know that you prepared the food for them and make it accessible whenever they need it.

3. Auto-Pay Your Bills

You don’t have to log into your accounts every time to check the balances that need settling. Instead, you can set them on auto-pay, such that your financial accounts get credited once the bills come in. don’t let a slow internet slow you down or go through the time-consuming trouble of finding how much you need to pay. That should save you valuable time and offer you the freedom to work on other essential things.

4. Shop Online

Most moms don’t fancy shopping online, but it’s a valuable hack that can save a considerable chunk of your time. Of course, you only log in to an e-commerce site, make a few clicks and order your items conveniently from home. How much this hack saves time is a no-brainer since you don’t have to rev up engines and spend time on traffic. Besides, taking time scouring through the shelves at Walmart can be daunting, but doing it online is a piece of cake!

5. Don’t Let the Mailbox Fill Up

Always check your mailbox and deal with your mails immediately after receiving them. If possible, read them through and solve the issues they present without wasting a second to save on time. Please dispose of the junk and keep the significant ones, but don’t let them pile and create a mess that eventually needs handling. That way, saving on time will be much more achievable.

Being a mum is a job that takes a massive chunk of your time. And while most mamas wouldn’t find it much of a significant issue, they might want to squeeze the schedule and get some free time for the family. If that’s your case, this article will hopefully help you out.
