If you crack open a mid to late 80s Guinness Book of World Records book, you’ll find that the most intelligent person in the world is a woman named Marilyn vos Savant. She held the title from 1985 to 1989 after scoring 228 on the Stanford-Binet and 46 out of 48 on the Mega Test.
The columnist and author held the record until Guinness tossed out the “Highest IQ” category due to the inaccuracy of IQ tests, but there’s no hard feelings because Marilyn herself even said “attempts to measure [IQ] are useless” because there are too many factors to be considered. Nonetheless, it’s a pretty cool score for women to have one of our own in the big Guinness book as the most intelligent.
