IWD Has Official Colors
Colors are important. They’re employed as a visual representation of ideas we want to communicate instantly without the need for words. Whether we wear them on our clothes or incorporate them into decorations or flags, they have an undeniable impact as our minds are conditioned to associate colors with ideas.
International Women’s Day has its own hues. Purple, green, and white were chosen by the Women’s Social and Political Union in 1908 to signify the justice, hope, and purity they were fighting for. The colors were often used in their pins and banners, and many women still don the colors on IWD today.
