Bird diverter
Looking up at power lines, you’ve probably seen this kind of object before. It appears to be a spinny-thingy that’s clipped onto the lines. Is this a contraption made by the government to bug our phones? Or maybe it’s something even… worse? One person decided to inquire on Reddit.
Not, it’s nothing of the sort. According to one Reddit user, this object is called a bird diverter, also known as a hazer. As the wind blows, the spinning turbine will… well… spin around, shooing away birds and bats. It also alerts birds that there’s a solid object in the area. It also serves the purpose that machinery operators can see where the lines are and avoid electrecution.
